Check engine light came on after Throttle body cleaning

I just took my car into a Shell auto shop today to get a BG service done on my car. It includes a fuel injection cleaning service and a throttle body service. I know i could've done this on my own for cheap, but i really dont have the time to do it. Anyways after they performed the service my "Service engine soon" light came on. Is this normal after an throttle body clean. I drove the car for about 30 mins to work after the job was done and the lights still on. The mechanic there told me that it might be my O2 sensor but he wasn't sure and that I had to come back on the 20th when this other mechanic was back on vacation. Any ideas why my light came on after this job?

Re: Check engine light came on after Throttle body cleaning

Did you reconnect your MAF and temp sensor? if you started the car w/o plugging them back in, the Check Engine Light will come on. Assuming that's the problem, just reconnect it, reset the ECU, and then vroom..... vroom....

If the CEL still comes on, pull some codes and match them up to the service manual or the webpage.

Good luck!

If they did not disconnect the MAF and reved the car as they cleaned the throttle body, it would also do this. Mine did, but went off after a few days.

Pull the codes?

Did you pull the codes after I cleaned my TB i got the TB position sensor code because I reved it by hand while clean. Reset your ECU you will probably be fine.
