i think a 5 speed would take you with no problem. well that also depend on the driver. But the v spec is a nice car. go NISSAN

If your friend has an auto 4th generation you will beat him.
If he has a 5-speed he will beat you if he knows how to drive, but most likley he will win.

Spec V is a nice car. Good choice.

Your car does around 15.5-15.7 1/4. Which is pretty much the same as an auto 4th generation/5th generation Maxima.
People with just an intake have gotten their spec v down to 15.1 1/4.
Not bad at all.

from a dead stop if you run an auto you should win, if you run a manual you should loose

from a roll an auto or 5 speed should win....

but that's why we race , coulda, shoulda, woulda don't count right?

Stock for stock, vs a 5 spd maxima, you will lose. 5spd max is a 14 second car stock, a spec V is not. They are still pretty sharp cars though. And am not sure where you got your weight information, but a 4th gen max is not a 3200 lb car. 5 speed 4th gen is between 2850 and 2950 lbs... I've seen them weighed on track scales.

A buddy of mine picked up a Spec V, I was a big fan at first, but I really hate the transmission. It feels sloppy and just well, it drove me crazy. I love everything else about the car though. Hope you have fun with it, I know he does.

i races a sentra spec v last time, i can take him easily and i drive an auto, but what i heard is it has a good potential on modifying, and i really like the car's interior and overall it's a great car (WAY MUCH BETTER THAN THE NEW SI)!!!!!!

and one more thing about the spec-v is that i think the wheels are too big for such a small car especially with the stock setup

Like others above have mentioned, you will not be able to take a 5spd 4th Gen, given equal driving skills on both parties involved. However, if you can drive, then you will most likely beat a stock auto Maxima (not smoke, but pull slightly).

again, i said if A STOCK AUTO... if he has mods you will lose.. i have the video to prove it... but if your intake VS his stock you might try from a red light

otherwise you will lose.. but agian why do we race? cause not matter what numbers say anything can happen
