HP or Torque
with a maxima, you don't need no more of nothin, we got plenty of power
but I would think that torque would be more beneficial since its what accelerates you from a stop. the more torque, the faster the acceleration, its all in the physics.. horsepower is mainly good for high end power, like on the freeway. at least that's how i understand it.

You cant have more of one and not the other. HP is a function of torque, we've gone over this a bazillion times.
HP = (TQ X RPM)/5252
So anytime you increase torque you increase HP.
What you are really asking, I believe, is:
Which would you rather have, high-end power or low-end power?

Torque baby - pulling off the line & outta the corners. mzmtg's right though you get one with the other. It's tunable to a point with intakes & exhausts I believe.
I just noticed the stock VQ TQ is 7.8% higher than HP. My last dyno exactly the same ratio.
