I've had my '93 Max SE for almost two weeks now and I tried to wax it up with Turtle Wax (always worked great on other cars). When I take the wax off it leaves slight hazy smears in the paint, noticable only up close. Lots of rubbing helps but doesnt completely eliminate it.

I did buy it at a used car lot and the dealer 'prepped' the car, maybe the wax they used is cheap crap and making the new wax smear? It's black paint on the Max by the way.

any ideas? Should I use a buffer to take the wax off?
