Hard to Start..codes 0215 and 0704

Hello all,
I read all the posts on these two codes (0215 and 0704)and I am going to go home and check the Evap Control System and Sensor. I read in the Evap Control troubleshooting and testing that the car should START and run normally, however, the starter cranks sometimes for as long as 8 or 9 seconds before it starts..once it runs, it runs fine. This is especially true when it is hot...and the weather has been hot the past few days. I also noticed that when I went to get gas...(I had about 1/8 of a tank), when I removed the cap, there was an awful lot of pressure/vacuum.
Could these two problems be related to the Evap Control System, or am I looking at something different, like a fuel filter...which I believe hasn't been replaced? 1998, 5 spd..46,000 miles.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Clean your throttle body www.motorvate.ca

Had the same codes on an I30, after we cleaned the throttle body the car ran & started much better and the evap codes stoped coming up. I think there is a small vaccume port that gets clogged with carbon build up and causes the evap system to malfunction. Then again, it could actually be the purge valve stuck too, but the cleaning you can do yourself for about 6 bucks. And trust me, if it's never been done on your car, you WILL notice the difference.

The pressure release from your gas tank is normal when you open it up.
