today i changed my regular Penzoil 5w30 oil to the Synthetic Motor Oil. I noticed that the engine idles alot smoother and doesnt have any hesitation off the line anymore. Is it just my imagination or did it really help??
Anyone with similar experiances post some reply's.

I think you made a good choice in changing oil types. I have been using Synthetic Motor Oil for 2years and my engine is very smooth.

I think it's slightly smoother. One thing to think about is if you are in a cold environment or make short (less than 5 mile trips). My neighbor (jet mechanic) explained that synthetic oil properties are such that short trips with sythetic produce a bit of condensation which burns off at normal operating temps. If your car never gets there-boom you have water in that oil. (I don't know how accurate it is). Also, synthetic is so slippery I had valve noise at start up when I hadn't driven for a couple of days and then strated the car. All the oil coatingsd fell off and went into the pan. regular oil is a little thicker and stays onthe engine parts longer before going into the pan. But, if you drive 10+ miles and everyday-synthetic is better.

I noticed that my max runs smoother with synthetic vs reg oil. I think my gas mileage even went up too. Do a search on this forums about it. Someone here tested the synthetic oil on how long it lasts and if its really worth the money.

been using synthetic from my first oil change on my 5th gen, on my 4th genz I switched b/c I got the cars used and I noticed the car idles better, and one time I put regular oil in the engine and the car kinda ran like it was pulling a boat. real heavy. so I put synthetic back in and it was normal again

Everything said here is very true, but don't forget that you are comparing your old worn-out oil to new synthetic. Any new oil should help a little (synthetic more so)
