I30 vs BMW 323i
I30 vs BMW 325i
My friend just got a 93 BMW 325i, and he kept saying he can beat me in a race. We didnt have time to race ,but can he actually beat me. My car is bigger, but it has more power. If im crazy please tell me so i dont make a complete fool of myself!
If you have an auto and he has a stick, it should be pretty close. I've ran against a 99 330, and only pulled half a car length on him. That was with some heavy ol rims though. I think I could've done more if I was on stocks or lighter rims.
Anyway, I think that it will boil down to your trannies. if you both are in auto's, you have him. If he has a stick. I think you can get him if you have enough runway.

1998 BMW 323 coupe
3075lbs. RWD
hp: 168@5500 RPM
tq: 181ft-lbs.@3950RPM
0-60mph: 7.1 sec
You should SMOKE him after 0-60. Unless he's an auto, in which case you'll smoke him anywhere and everywhere. Unless there is something magical about his 168 hp.
er... I just read your post BBaker025...there was no 323 in 1993?

In 1999 they made the 328i, not the 330i. I'm sure you could take the 328i auto or stick. But the 330i (2000+) in a 5spd is faster than a Max/I30 to 60MpH, and from there it should keep it's distance.-Cyrus

they never made a 323 in 93, its either 325 or 318, neither of which are particularly fast, maybe the 325i in stick but thats it.

I guess I'm not up on my beemers, I didn't stop to ask the guy what year of car was. I just remember the 330 on the butt of the car. I do know it was a stick from the way he inched up to the line. Yes I did race him and beat him, I am a modded I30. I don't know if I would've taken him stock. and the 330i isn't a very fast car even as a stick they do a 1/4 in the low 15's high 14's with a professional driver, which he wasn't. I don't think any of the 3 series are much of a threat unless its modded
