If you have an auto and he has a stick, it should be pretty close. I've ran against a 99 330, and only pulled half a car length on him. That was with some heavy ol rims though. I think I could've done more if I was on stocks or lighter rims.

Anyway, I think that it will boil down to your trannies. if you both are in auto's, you have him. If he has a stick. I think you can get him if you have enough runway.

330 and 323 are very different animals.

1998 BMW 323 coupe
3075lbs. RWD
hp: 168@5500 RPM
tq: 181ft-lbs.@3950RPM
0-60mph: 7.1 sec

You should SMOKE him after 0-60. Unless he's an auto, in which case you'll smoke him anywhere and everywhere. Unless there is something magical about his 168 hp.

er... I just read your post BBaker025...there was no 323 in 1993?

Not saying you're lying, but that's very hard to believe. Maybe you made a type In 1999 they made the 328i, not the 330i. I'm sure you could take the 328i auto or stick. But the 330i (2000+) in a 5spd is faster than a Max/I30 to 60MpH, and from there it should keep it's distance.

they never made a 323 in 93, its either 325 or 318, neither of which are particularly fast, maybe the 325i in stick but thats it.

I guess I'm not up on my beemers, I didn't stop to ask the guy what year of car was. I just remember the 330 on the butt of the car. I do know it was a stick from the way he inched up to the line. Yes I did race him and beat him, I am a modded I30. I don't know if I would've taken him stock. and the 330i isn't a very fast car even as a stick they do a 1/4 in the low 15's high 14's with a professional driver, which he wasn't. I don't think any of the 3 series are much of a threat unless its modded

True, the mods may come into affect here. And just so that you don't get into a race you'll regret later, stay away from the 330xi even if it is stock. Low to mid 14s in the 1/4 but 5.8 0-60! AWD power!

The 93 325i made 189hp I believe. It's not the same engine as the 2.5L I-6 in the newer 323 (now 325) models.

Should be a close race.
