Some vids from Capitol 4/12/02

Here are some vids from a few weekends ago at Capitol Raceway in Crofton, Maryland. Some highlights include my best 1/4 mile run to date and some guy trying to drive an S2000. These are all compressed big time and are Windows Media format. A friend of mine who had never been to a track of any kind did the taping so it isnt perfect but he's learning. Make sure you check out the audio, some of the sound bytes from the announcer are funny.

The VT server is having issues so if the transfer starts out really slow, stop it and try to save it again.

Yup, camera work need to be improve. Couldn't really tell who won at the end and the times were blurry.

Who won between the I30 vs. Integra? Couldn't tell from the video.

Yeah, If my friend just would've stood up during the tapings and lost his zoom infatuation, it would have turned out much better.

As for the race, I think the Integra barely edges out the I30 but Im not sure. If SLTi30T sees this thread he'll confirm.

Nice run for the auto. Do what Clee does, get high into the stands to shoot the vids.

It's really just practice. My very first time taping a track run was all messed up too.

Of course, it helps to know what to expect at the strip.

DCmax, next time, tell him to go higher up in the stands so if he doesn't feel like standing, he can at least look down at the track. And the zoom function can be a great tool at capturing the end of the race, but that just comes with practice and getting to know where to point the camera at the track.

And steady hands help too.
