I have an 87 Maxima SE with a leaking transmission. I think one of
the mechanics might have claimed to put too much gear oil W80/90 in
but that's all history now since the tranny is leaking.

I bought a set of the cv-axle seals thinking that was the problem but
the ones on the car are new and it didn't seem to make a difference
except for less fluid leaking at the moment.

My question is whether there is any sealant type fluid that can be put in like the type used on regular automatic transmissions, and also with regular oil, and power steering....that would stop the leak
over a period of time.

What are my alternatives besides for a transmission overhaul and repair ?
