What car to buy next (need opinions)

As most of you know I am only 16 soon to be 17, and I am tired of making car payments on my 99 max. I decided I am going to give that car to my mom, have her pay it off and take her accord. Now, after doing that I will sell the accord hoping to get like 9 or 10k for it and need to buy something else. Does anyone have any ideas? I am leaning towards maybe a 300zx non turbo because they seem to be cheaper right now, or maybe an rx-7 or older supra. I want something rwd or awd, stock turbo'd or sc'd if possible. I dont know what to get considering I will have about 9 or 10k to spend, and please dont flame me for doing this, simply I cant justify continuing to pay off a car thats auto to start off with and that I am not too fond of. Thanks,

Mike

I would go with the Supra. The RX7 is too unreliable with its rotary engine, and N/A 300ZXs have very little aftermarket support. Even if the Supra is older, doesn't mean you can't make it look and peform well. I can back that up with this.

Go for an old Datsun 510, and put whatever you want in it. Or you can get a 240sx very nice car. And very modable.

I am even considering like a 97 prelude at this point, I am not sure yet but I need something newer not older, and like I said with a big aftermarket and fun. Thanks,

Mike

DSM turbo(EClipse or 3000GT)....cheap, fast and easy to mod(at least the Eclipse is)....but you have to be a stickler when it comes to maitenence, from my experience ****subishi engines aren't too reliable unless given utmost care!

Turbo (VR4) 3KGT can get expensive. Ive only seen a couple with 90k mi. range for around $9000.

man there sure are a lot of young dudes on here with nice rides!! [old man voice] back in the day when I was 16, they didn't have cars at all, I walked 5 miles ot school in the rain under the 105 degree sun in 12 ft. of snow!!!![/old man voice]

If you can't make the insurance payments then stick with a sedan. Get a 2K2 6 speed.

Its not its rotary engine that makes in unreliable. The Rx-7 is one of the best, if not the best, cars on the road today for performance (excluding German/Italian). The Rx-7's are prone to engine failure due to the large amount of heat from the TT's. If you find an Rx-7 with low miles, you MUST remove the TT's and put in a single Turbo. If you do that and keep up the engine it will last a very long time. I know 3rd gen Rx-7 that run 9's and lower with mods that didn't cost too much. The 4th Gens are much better and quicker.

Imprezzas are going to be expensive, I have looked into getting one but everyone wants a lot of money for it.

Look at the 2.2L turbo fwd Chryslers. Daytonas and Shelbys. They did mid 14s stock. Toss on a boost controller and look 13s in the eye for next to no $.

You can even watch the head gasket blow.

Worth a shot.....

If your looking for power and a turbo. You might want to purchase a Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. On the older models you can bomb to the hilt and get a dream drive (500 hp/550 fpt very easily).

Find a Shelby CSX <it looks like a Dodge Spirit> except its MUCH faster and pretty reliable. The 2.2L is industructable.
