How to find out if a new engine will fit a 97

I am going to do the conversion and I have located a 1997 I30 5 speed. How am I able to find out if the engine will work directly with my 97 Maxima? Any ideas on this? I know Harold says on his site to try to get the 5 speed tranny if you can, now that I found one, will it work?

an i30 engine should fit fine. you'll probably run into some problems with the tranny if you've got an auto now, but that can be switched as well.

What is the way to tell? Is there someplace that gives measurements about each car's dimensions?

It will fit just fine, BrianV has already done this since his poor motor went BOOM.

What's the advantage to having an I30 motor? Were they all 222hp? Also, I've heard that all I30 5spds are LSD, is this true? And if so is a direct replacement?
