well it just started to happen i have a 95 with 130000miles and recently it started to make weird noises. Like a super charger like whineing noise i think its from the pully but not sure well if you guys can help me thanks

 

Have you checked out the belts? What kind of shape are they in?

 

P/S fliud? tranny dying?

 

I'm going to suggest the DBM way to find out what the problem is.

Get some rubber hose, put one end to your ear and use the other to find the location of the noise. Once you know exactly where the noise is coming from, figuring out what's causing it will get a lot easier.

 

Is it only when accelerating? I think I have a similar noise and did a search earlier. I think my problem might be a leaking exhaust manifold. it might be yours too. does it seem to be coming from the passenger side of the engine? That's where mine seems to be coming from. Only thing is that I only notice it when I'm driving. can't seem to hear it when i just have it in neutral and rev the engine.

 

my car sounded like it had a supercharger when i found out that my battery was dying

 

My SE has over 74k, is all stock and makes that noise b/w 2000 & 2500 rpm, I don't even know where the noise is coming from but I hear it mostly at night

 

Maybe you have a supercharger and you don't know it?

It's most likely one of the belts are wearing and *** a result is whining. Make sure to check your belts beofore going to a smelly mechanic.

 

Huh. Now that you mention it, my 95 with 100000 miles made noises exactly like that a couple of times last fall. I didn't do anything about it, other than wonder what it was, and they haven't reoccurred since.
