Why are people such jerks?

I live in NY, and was in the Bronx today buying something from Toys-R-Us. I come outside after half an hour, and what do I see? A hole in my front bumper where my driver's side Clear Bumper marker should be. Naturally I was upset. To make matters worse, I saw that the b@st@rd also took the socket for the light bulb, meaning I had to go to a local dealer and buy the $18 part. Whoever stole the side marker, if you read this, I hope you're happy with your single clear side marker, because if I find you, I will run you over. Fast. And Repeatedly.

P.s. This wasn't a question per se, more of a vent...I just wish there were some way to wire the clear bumper lights to electroctute people who touch them...alas, what's a Maxima owner to do?

did you secure them? that may have deterred or atleast slowed the guy down from stealing them since they wouldn't come out as easy as they should. he would have then had to go under your car and unscrew more things to get them out which is usually too much of a hassle in broad day light. sorry to hear about your loss, i'd be ****ed too. goodluck

I guess I was partly to blame...I didn't think I'd need to secure them. I guess I should done more research about the value of securing them. Tomorrow I'm going to order the Diamond Cut ones from custommaxima.com and you can bet your @ss I'll secure those

That's horrible, man. It sucks that people can be such ***holes. What do clears cost anyway, $50? This guy actually had to go and STEAL it from someone else... that sucks.

Yeah only $50. But if you think about it many guys here with their group deals only save a few dollars and they think it's awesome.

I still don't understand some people's mentallity: Save $5, but you have to wait for 10 other people to order.

That's life in the Bronx. What part do you live in? My buddy lives on Cypress down around St Anne's but there's no Toys R'Us around there...

There is NeedleExchange R'US though...

Sorry maybe this link will help you secure them. I secured mine and I wonder if someone wants them bad enough will they try and pry them out and damage my bumper. I guess you can't win either way.

Yeah, I got these through an Ebay auction custommaxima was running, so i only paid $35 shipped, which wasnt bad at all. I guess what bugs me most is that whoever stole the light really has no use for it. I mean, what can a person do with 1 clear side marker for a Maxima? I doubt they could really sell it anywhere (with my luck, I'll see it on Ebay tonight). It was (at least that's the most sense I can make of it) just a complete random act of vandalism. Just out of curiousity, has anyone that secured their lights had their car damaged by would-be thieves?

P.S. I'm actually from Westchester, New Rochelle to be exact. I go to school in the Bronx. I was at the Bay Plaza Toys-R-Us near Gun Hill Road.

P.P.S The only other reason I could think of for a person to steal my side light would be to replace their own stolen light...I guess they would be trying to even the score, but that's pretty low. I guess, as the French say, c'est la vie. (thats life)

the only thing i have against securing the clears in, which is why i haven't done it, is that if they really want them and they're stealing from you anyway, and if you secure it and make it harder for them, they're just gonna rip your bumper apart...now i would rather pay another 50 bucks for new clears than have to pay for a new bumper, just to save my clears...and i have yet to see a maxima in my area with clears or any mods, except for one i have seen with red/clears, but that's it...so if you think about it, would you rather pay for a new set of clears if someone steals them, or a new bumper by having them secured?

If I ever get to spending a good ammount of money on my max, I'm gonna hire a midget to sit on the roof with a shotgun to make sure everyone just keeps right on walking by.

Razor blades in creative places once you secure them too are invaluable. I've got blood on mine....

Re: Why are people such jerks?

Haha, I got my polarg wedge bulb stolen from the clear cornerss while I was parked in the campus parking lot, but the funny thing is, this NICE bastaard put the clear corners back in the place after he pulled out the polarg bulbs.
I didn't even notice the bulbs were missing until one of my buddy just told me there were no lights in the sidemarkers.
I guess all that college education finally paid off for that bastarrd. Go college education!

a razor blade in that space between the small piece and large piece on the clears would be perfect but poison tipping them might be pushing it, right?

i had both of mine stolen a while ago, and now the new ones are nice and secure. they also took one of my wiring harnesses too. i like the idea of the midget, but the razor blades....eh...if you actually did that, and the dude got cut, i have a feeling he would take his anger out on the rest of the car....oh yeah, so far my clears are still there.

I'm wondering why he thinks the person that stole them is on this site?

I think that quite a few of the Maxima part thieving types are on this board. All those 5th Gen HIDs being stolen. I once got ripped off by this member named Leo...from Queens. This was when I knew next to nothing about Maximas. He told me that he was selling the stock SE fogs, I met up with him, and all he gave me was the lamps...no brackets, no switch or relay. When I asked him about it, he claimed that he had no idea that those parts would be needed to operate the foglamps properly. He told me that since he had no tools with him (neither did I), he couldn't take off the rest of the parts. Since he lived nearby, we agreed that we would meet up again, for him to give me the brackets and turn signal stalk. After a couple of days, I heard nothing from him. So, I decided to call him. He never answered the phone, it was always his sister. She kept telling me that he wasn't home. Finally after about a week and a half of calling, she answered the phone one final time and proceeded to yell "Stop calling you loser, he's never going to give you anything!" I finally realized that I had been screwed.

I guess I was naive to the fact that some poeple can be so shiesty. Hey, you know what they say...live and learn...

I know where the kid lives. And I swear sometimes I see him around. Watch out all, his names Leo (sometimes uses screenname Neo___). He drives a dark green '95-'96 SE with a '97-'99 front end.
