Hey my friend was told in order to get rid of the the sound his y-pipe makes to take two hose clamps and put them on. Well that really didnt work. So do you think it is possible to put heat resistant tape on there and that may help?

 

What other breathing mods does your friend have on the car?

 

The only other thing I have on my car is a PR CAI.

the noise is to wrap the y pipe with "header wrap". BUT BUT BUT I have heard that it can make the pipe rust out faster cuz it traps the moisture inside the pipe.

I never had a problem with rusting of my y-pipe. and I ran my car thru a NYC winter (snow, slush and all)
I don't think that rusting due to moisture retention will be any problem with the STillen pipe (I had a stillen) There were several other guys in the NE crew with Stillen Y's that did the same and have had no problems either
