which ones are better to use?

 

you wont get any performance out of using a breather. Mostly cosmetics.

 

i put a breather filter on my car and it made it idle funny and even stall out. changed it back to a hose set up and it worked fine.

 

agreed with that. i had a a breather filter over the bigger hose that goes into the resonator box from the fire wall side (I think that's the IAC) but my car wouldn't hold idle. so we plugged that up. i still have a breather filter over the house that is on the other side. makes this weird sucking sound. anyways, i have OBX since they are chrome and match my intake

 

You can put one on the valve cover, but you need to plug up the one that goes into the intake piping.

 

You can't put beather filter anywhere on the intake piping. The MAF can't account for the air, that's why your car wouldn't idle.

 

if properly used breather filters will keep the oily buildup included in pistion blow-by from being deposited into your intake manifold and "gooking" it up after it leaves the heads... is this helpful?? I'd say yes, but performance increase not really, it will kepp you intake clean though...but the oily buildup will collect on your engine parts!

after I cleaned my intake manifolds 3 weeks ago I installed 2- 1 pint catch can/breathers, one attached to each PCV outlet on both heads and plugged up my PCV valve hole and the PCV hole on my intake....this way no more oily buildup in the intake and no oily mess under the hood...it not smog legal though since I bascially eliminated my intake/PCV system! quick easy mod, plus the catch cans look cool when I pop the hood!

 

i didn't put one on the piping itself. one is on the valve cover end and the other is on the end that goes into the idle control. i made a ghetto upper CAI piece with out the holes for the hoses.

 

i have an hks intake with the dave b mod. the intake piping hole is running to the back cylinder bank. thanks though. btw seen a pic of your car at that PA show. looking good.

 

what is the dave b mod in intakes? i thought he was just our VB guy for us auto owners...

 

Did the same thing to me, changed it back after i met up with you and everyone for the auto show and it runs fine now

 

it is running a few hoses to eliminate the intake resanator.

 

can you explain more...i'd be interested in exactly what this is...

 

well if you have an hks intake you can do this. basically run the front bank and rear bank breather hoses into a "T" fitting and run the T into an extra hole on the intake piping itself. this gets rid of the intake resanator and gives it a deeper growl.
