So is the new 2.5L 4-banger reliable?

I was just wondering what some of the bonafide engine/mechanical buffs on here thought of Nissans 2.5L 4. Namely...does it seem reliable? I ask, because I've heard complaints about the last Nissan torquey 4 I researched (a bit), specifically the one that went into the US 240s in the last few years of production. (I don't even remember the engine code :/ ) I'm thinking about a Spec V as a replacement for my Maxima, because I'd like a new car and $19k will probably be within my financial bounds....and because the Spec V seems to have enough low-end to make city driving not as annoying as say...my old Integra.

There's still a lot of time in between for me to ponder (probably 1 1/2 to 2 years), but I just wanted to see any initial thoughts/reports about the 2.5 in general.

What complaints have you heard about the 2.4L <called the KA24DE> that went in the USDM 240SX??

Its not smooth, but apart fmor that it is a damn strong block and pretty damn torquey.

I think of the new QR25DE as a 4-cyl VQ engine since its based on the same manufacturing process with its molydenum <sp??> coating on the internals, etc...

However I have also heard that the QR25DE drinks oil and gas..atleast during burning in.
