Caliper paint- EVERYWHERE

I'm in the middle of painting my brake calipers a nice bright red. All of the sudden, I feel something sticky beneath my feet. It turns out that the friggin paint ate throught the bottom of the plastic cup I was holding, all over my leg, hand, garage floor, and most importantly- MY ROTORS!

I gasped as I scoured the floor for clean towels.... But the only one nearby had paint on it too. I grabbed it anyhow and tried to get to my rotors as quick as possible. Well, The e-brake was on and I needed to spin it (rear), so I opened up the car door and let the e brake down. BAD MOVE.

As I exit the car, I notice that I had dragged the end of the red, dripping wet towel across the passenger seat. Let me go on the record by saying that red paint does not look too nice on a frost leather interior.

Hours later and a half a bottle of Leather Conditioner, Dissolve It, and a toothbrush....I was pretty much good to go. But my garage floor is destroyed and I have a new Saturday project of repainting it.

DON'T PUT CALIPER PAINT IN A PLASTIC CUP!

Forgive me, but that was a funny story. And now I see the real reason you're done with mods!

LOL... Damn, I did my calipers yesterday. I kept it in the can. Rustoleum Sunset Red. Perfect color!

Actually, the funniest part of the story was the next day. My hands were covered in the paint and somehow, overnight, it turned to a dark, black tinted blood red. I had a HUGE meeting with a large fast food chain operations committee and my hands looked like I had been in a hell of a street brawl. I tried hiding them, but each member of the board looked down at my hand as I shook theirs. I finally ended up explaining what had happened and they got a chuckle out of it.

But I still don't think they really understood what "calipers" were.....

They were probably thinking, "I can't believe we scheduled a HUGE meeting with this "punk lowrider gangster". "

Kidding! Those are your words!

Nope. I had the caliper paint and the clear "activator" which hardens up the paint after a few minutes. But I didn't want to use the whole thing right away, so I used the plastic cup.
