Squeaky Brakes

OK whenever I accelerate from a light, I could hear the brakes squeal and hear the pace pick up until 30mph, then it goes away, + I feel that my SE is getting increasingly harder to stop and I don't even drive that fast on local roads. Pls. advise

I had the same problem. Just clean everything you possibly can withe brake cleaner and then put on some anti-squeal stuff. Getting some new shims might help also, I picked up a kit from my local nissan dealer for $22. Problem solved.

I was having the same problem before I put on Raybestos Quiet Stop ceramic pads. Now my stopping power is back, and the noise is completely gone, silent. ONCE in a while I get a tiny squeek while accelerating, the squeeking speeds up to about 30mph then goes away, but this is very rare.

I thought that when your brakes squeek while driving, it the "nail" hitting the rotor. The "nail" is supposed to tell u that your pad are dangerously low. I think you should check them just in case.

I second that. Have them checked.

Take it to a local shop that you trust or a friend. Do it quick, having no brakes is not cool. My friend bought his G20 to the infiniti dealership and asked to have his tranmission checked, they said $200. Then he said how much to get the clutch checked? They said "Oh, that means we have to open the tranmission up, about $500." So basically for 200 dollar, they literally LOOK at your tranmission and tell you if anything is wrong. Man, give me 10 bux and ill check it for u. Likewise, I dont bring my I30 back to dealership to check stuff, just to get stuff fixed under warranty.

When your brakes squeal it doesnt necessarily mean they are down to the wear indicators, in my situation, I had my brakes replaced about 8 months ago and they immediately started to squeal... basically it came down to shoddy work. But, after I broke down and cleaned the brakes, my car stops better and no more squeal.

You can do a quick check by pulling off a wheel and looking at the pads, actually I think with the rear, you may need to pull the caliper off to look, but its pretty easy.
