I would pass on it. What else might be wrong with it?

$6900 for a car with 128K miles in such poor condition is a rip off.

what he said...if a car is kept in such poor condition like that, there is no telling what else is wrong with it...especially if its leaking stuff

I don't think it is not what you should ask for. Just listen to others, pass on it.

With the condition you have mentioned, the car was own by a carless owner. If the owner doesn't care about the look, do you think he (or she) will care about the engine and tranny?

Like the others said, pass on it. The trann is a major weakness of our car. To get a used one would be about $1200 parts and labor. That car looks like its well on it way to that tranny job, plus the other stuff. Fuhgetaboutit.

You say, it pulls really strongly. Well, don't warry, all Maximas do that

The leaking tranny is the biggest of the worries...
Get it looked at by a mechanic or offer them like 5 grand. Even if the tranny is bad, you'll end up paying like 6,500$ for the car with a fresh rebuilt tranny... which is still a bargain for that car. The milage is nothing to worry about, the car can still go twice that amount easily.

I agree w/ every-1, pass on this car for now , you're bound to find a max in far better condition

But, 128K looks like this car has been around the world a few times

This is probably the best suggestion and reason so far. I have a 95 GLE and have been told on numerous occasions that the car looks brand new (it kinda does)and it has almost 160k. When people don't take care of the car it shows, both on the outside and more importantly on the inside where you can't peak in and look. I would pass on it.
