I just bought a 96' maxima...its blue and completely stock. I want to start with the exterior first. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

I can tell you want a bodykit. Well think suspension first, because unless you lower that Max it will look a little odd. I think you should first go FSTB and HAI, because they're cheap ($100 for both) and effective. But to each his own, if you want looks get rims, kit, wing, slammed, and neons.

Diamond cut bumper lenses, clear/red tail lights, a body kit, suspension and some nice rims.

 

Yes, first of all, get rid of those fugly, amber front bumper lights. Replace those with a set of clears, especially the "diamond-cut". Get a set of "red-clears" for the taillamps (very hard to find, though for '95-'96's). Maybe, buy a new set of rims. These are all the basic mods, but you can look at other members' rides and get an idea of any "custom" mods.

Nope. They don't manufacture the red/clears for the '95-'96's anymore. You had to buy the "outer" taillamps all clear, and paint the bottom lens red. APC used to sell them, but they are now out of production, probably because of legal, safety issues of all-clear tail lighting, for that they have to have some type of "red" in the lense. Look in the "for sale" section...plenty of people selling them (if they are of good quality matching).
