97-99 to 95-96 steering wheel swap???

Can it be done? Anyone ever do it?

I love my 1996 leather wrapped steering wheel.

I love mine too, I think they (95-96's) are nicer appearing than the newer ones. I'd stick with the original, unless it needs replaced for some reason.

personally I like the '97-'99 SE steering wheel better, wish I can add some radio controls to the left side like the ones in the '02 Xterra, can that be done, and will it fit?

Find an aftermarket headunit with the controls on the left. There are a few I believe but the majority have them on the right where our cruise control is.

I'm glad someone said it Sheesh, I wanted to, but everyone would have concluded it was simply b/c I owned one. I'm not like that.

Anyways, the 97-99 SE steering wheel, it's only the SEs, is waaaay better

In 2000, that SE type steering wheel became the defacto for every Maxima,GXE/SE/GLE just without the leather. Now, you see that steering wheel style all over the lineup. I particualrly like the Altima one, with the Nissan emblem chromed out. Nice touch.
