I order some Maxspeed Springs and the best quote for install I got so far is $200. Is there anybody in the Harrisburg, PA, Baltimore, Md, or Phily area that has had there's installed for less?? I am willing to drive for a lower price...

 

Call some local speed shops - independent owners and offer $150. You may not want to travel too far, it can take 4 hours.

 

I know there is one in Carlisle, PA but I just can't find the Magazine that had the # in it.. I called Dynamic motorsport and they told me it would cost $250.. I have one more to call, but hopefully I can find that # to the one in Carlisle...

 

4 hours, ahahaha, I did radpp17's Maxspeeds in under 3 hours and we had a BBQ and I was eatting as well.
No air tools, all hand tools + spring compressors.

Did his install for $100.

When you install springs do you have to get an Alignment?? One shop told me yes, then another said not necessarily b/c the chamber is not adjusted he said they don't do alignments on the Honda's either. Is that true??

 

I got quoted 90 dollars from a friend's friend...he works at a body job and he's doing side jobs. just ask around if they are will to take cold hard cash.

 

Good rule of thumb is that if the drop is less than 2" alignment isn't necessary. Just be on the lookout for steering pull or irregular tire-wear. Of course, there are many org members who say align every time.

Just remember to give your springs a couple weeks to settle if you're gonna do it.

 

Alignment ? Anytime you do any suspension work that changes geometry of suspension components, YOU MUST GET AN ALIGNMENT...No Rules of Thumb, we are talking about your well being, granted its "only toe" adjustments, but it will make a difference in ride and handling characteristics.

 

So is it better to get the aligment done right after springs are installed or should I let them settle first??

 

I got mine installed at a local shop here in AZ, and he only charged me $100.

 

Let them bishes settle down.

 

About how long?? 1 or 2 weeks??

 

A week is fine.

 

I noticed the settle after three weeks with the Maxspeeds. Another reason I am not getting the alignment yet, is that I am about to put on Toks.

Shocks don't settle do they?
