How long does your fuel filter last?

I just wanted to get a bearing on the life of this part. I changed it for the first time at around 50k, which I thought was pretty soon. Now it feels like a I need a new one already and I just barely broke 70k. I rarely let the tank go near empty, so I don't think that should be a factor. It could be something else tho, all I know is that my pickup kind of sucks now, even after an oil change about 1k miles ago. Also, my check engine light came on at around 60k, and it said that my throttle position sensor was going bad (0403) I reset it and it never came back after. Should I still replace it? I notice now that when I come to a stop at a light or something, my car kind of shudders a little (like a rough idle), I'm sure its not my brakes and car is ok when idle. What could be causing that? Transmission maybe? I notice auto gearing is not as smooth as it used to be. BTW I have intake and Y-pipe, plugs changed at ~55k.

Change your fuel filter every 15,000 miles if you are using an OEM fuel filter for Maxima's, every 30,000 if you are using a bigger N/A 300ZX fuel filter.

Change your tranny fluid. It will make shifting alot better.

i dont think i changed mine until about 65k miles, at which point the car would simply have problems starting due to the clogged fuel filter.

Re: How long does your fuel filter last?

It sounds like you just need to do some maintenence. nothing sounds particularly bad. flush tranny fluid, clean throttle body, motor flush the engine next oil change, maybe try some fuel injector cleaner, clean/adjust IAC valve.

you should notice some improvement after all that. woohoo - bonding time with the maxima!!!
