What the freak????? That is like their best car...short of the NSX ofcourse. Those CL guys are gonna be upset when the discontiuance and their resale plummeting. I guess the Max vs CL was a war of attrition

Yeah, exactly. They seem to be quitting on reasonble priced sports cars. The Prelude is addleged to make a return as the Accord coupe, but it wont be the same. RSX-S vs ITR....dont get me started.

I don't see resale getting hurt at all. Preludes haven't, they are still hot selling car even used.

Ah. Russ. Again, how did you think you got such a good deal on your CL? Because everyone was lining up out of the dealership door waiting to buy one? And resale on the CLs is not as good as the TLs. I see them discounted pretty far in my area. Thousands less than the same year TL.

Ahhh...here we go. This is going to be a 6 pager now.....

By the way, why did Toyota discontinue the Supra? Did they think the the Echo would be a sufficient replacement?

Yes Preludes resale is great especially the 97-01's, 97's and 98's from personal sellers are still quit ea bit. Actaully the Cl wasnt their best seller the TL/S is. Honda needs to let the Lude rest in Peace as it went out with a great looking car especially the SH.

Since when was the RSX-S supposed to replace the ITR?? Last I checked it is supposed to replace the GSR. They have an RSX-R in Japan that is supposed to replace the ITR.

And DeAnne will pull a Russ and sell her future for a shot at the RSX-R.

Or just marry a nice guy who has toys like a Stook, etc. who is itching to spend money on her.....

I'm not surprised. The luxury coupe market in the US is extremely small, and apparently Acura sold as many TL's in one month as they did CL's all year

That will make the 03 CL-S 6spd a very nice collector's edition to an otherwise nice car that's just short 2 doors *cough*TL-S 6spd Acura do you hear me?*cough*

Russ? This is your last chance.

I'm not that irresponsible... Plus I'll just borrow Shing's if/when he buys one.

I highly doubt that Shing is itching to spend money on me... gas is expensive remember?

Nope, they were clearing out the 2002s for 2003s. The 2003s are selling for 30k-31k now. That is why.

Hmm I guess that explains the point of my post Russ. That the CLs are NOT holding their resale value in the used market. Clearouts don't explain the poorer resale values on used CLs. Call it what you wish.

Poorer resale, hmmm people are trading in 2001s for 25k, go figure.....must be bad resale.

Whatever. Funny because 25k is RETAIL on an used CL from the DEALER. So I guess they are selling it for exactly what they buy it for? That means private resale is even lower. I saw a 99' cl for $16,xxx

http://classifieds.nwsource.com/auto...=f&order=model

yeah some are really high but the vast majority are just at 25k.

I've seen the same thing here in WA state. That's why I'm goin with the Max, vs. a used 2dr CL...
From what I read in the MT article, it seems that the 2dr. coupe market isn't very strong in the US. Go figure...

99 CL is the old body style, very small, ugly one. 2001 is when they made the new model which is more luxury.

Also:

Acura
2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type-S
Price: $28,995
Mileage: 19,542

From the site you mentioned, shall I say more?

Some may not believe me, but I do not plan to get rid of mine either. At least it doesn't loose half the cars worth in under 1 year like my Maxima did.

29k msrp got 17k with only 15k of miles in mint condition...

Sure, CL's, not TYPE-S.

Type-S gets about 2-3k more.

After 1 year they are getting 25k for regular CL's, thats awesome.

CL-S actually holds it value well. Read the new 330i vs. CL-S article, they mentioned that both cars have very good resale value.
