installing the breather... found ALiEns in my engine

during my custom install of the PCV, breather filter, i found a foreign object lodged in that ?vacume? hose.. it was a bigg nasty copper pipe cleaner (OMG WTF!!), about 3 inches long. when i finaly pulled it out there were a lot of the copper bristles missing.... oo my poor engine.. now my cars idle is soooooooo nice! ..

-just a warning dont let anyone try and fix your max. that "thing" could have been sitting in my car since it came off the line...

the breather looks great!, thanx for all your help
ill get pics soon

This is an old thread, but just wanted to mention that I also removed this vacumn hose recently on my 92 GXE, and found the same 'copper pipe cleaner' inside the hose. I'm unsure what function it serves, but am pretty sure this is the original vacumn hose...

Do you have any pics of this? I'm kinda curious what this looks like and if this relates to VE's as well as VG's.

Could there be any disadvantage to removing this copper piece?
