Questions on entire intake and exhaust replacement
Questions on entire intake and exhaust replacement
Heres the deal, I finally have some money to put into performance so I have been searching for some info on replacing intake and exhuast. However I still have a few questions:
1 Is warpspeed the only maker of a cai with a k&n filter?
2 From your experience is it worth it to get the warpspeed ss y-pipe as opposed to the budget? Reason I ask is b/c warpspeeds website says something about the steel not be the same or as high of quality and can discolor after time.
3 If I buy a b-pipe will it fit on the oem cat converter and muffler? I wanna keep my stock muffler and do all the installation myself, so I dont want to have to weld anything.
4 Would it be better/cheaper just to have a muffler shop make me a b-pipe even though it may not be mandrel bent?
Any advice or info on your personal experiences are welcome.
Thanks
T

Re: Questions on entire intake and exhaust replacement
1)a genuine K&N filter, yes - but injen has a very similar filter though.
2) stainless steel - dunt bother if you arent going to be running boost - get the aluminized steel one....... warpspeed y pipes dont have the bees in a can noise like the more generic types.
3)B pipe will fit fine with your stock cat and muffler
4)a muffler shop will prolly charge you about 100 bucks for a non mandrel bent b pipe........a few bucks more and you can get a better one........but the whole point in changing your b pipe is to minimize restrictions....and non mandrel bent pipes dont really help in reducing them.
