My 2 rear shocks starting leaking noticeably by 60K. That was a nice excuse to upgrade to AGXs. But I imagine (a) road surface quality /smoothness and (b) load would affect the life of the shocks the most.

I have 111k on mine and they do NOT leak. But I am sure they are worn and I would feel a diff if I eplaced with new OEM. Answer is it depends on your driving style and as already posted, road surface. Usually by 100K or so, they are noticeably worn.

Lots of crappy roads here in MI, nearing 79.5K on the odo w/ original shocks/struts, driving patterns are normal to occasional aggressive, so would I be in for new shocks/struts as well?

My mom recently got a used 97 SE in mint condition, with 80k miles. The shocks in that car are in perfect shape. Feels just like new. So if you dont drive hard, the shocks can go at least 80k miles. And the shocks on my mom's car feels very very good with 80k, so I think they can last a long time.

I replaced all four struts at 141k miles. They were noticibly worn, but they weren't too bad. I wouldn't have replaced them any earlier. Keep in mind, though, that most of those miles were highway miles, so they weren't as abused.

I replaced them with KYB's, and I'm taking my car to a shop tomorrow to have them checked out. I noticed an intermittent, low vibration at highway speed that I don't like. I also notived that instead of absorbing shock, the car sometimes seems to actually resonate on a bumpy road. They're getting to be far worse than the worn-out stock ones! The KYBs have a lifetime warranty, so I'm having them checked out tomorrow.

They have not been out for that long (since Summer of last year I think), so I don't think people have worn out their AGX's as of yet. The cool thing about AGX's is that if they do soften up, you can always set them at a stiffer setting to compensate.

The update is that the right front strut is leaking badly. Good thing they have a lifetime warranty, but I'm still kinda disappointed.
