Dude at the Nissan place told me that it would cost 150 beans to replace my key-less entry thing a ma jig. Mind you that my alrm still works its just that I F'ed up the key chain thing and it reacts when it feels like it. Now i might not be the smartest man, but it seems like somebody tried to rape me.

no, thats about right. The dealers charge a TON for those remotes. Buy one off eBay... You can pick one up for like $20-$25 (if you don't mind it being used). You can even program it yourself. The instructions can be found at courtesyparts.com . Also, see how much courtesyparts.com would charge you for a new remote... they offer a discount if you mention maxima.org. They're pretty nice.

You can get them consistently for $10-$20 on ebay. I just got one for my i30 (same as one for max, just has infinfiti logo), the seller listed it for an INFINITY not INFINITI and I got for $1.75!! He said nothing about maxima, but they are the same. Search ebay that way and see what you find!

Ebay is your friend!!

This is a good deal. Shipping is like $1.50, and I bet for an org member he would ship it to ya for free!

Programming them is a cinch, my dealer here wanted $35, their minimum shop charge to program it!

The advantages of being an org member are countless. Given the choice, I would buy from a fellow member rather than a just a name on ebay. I love ebay, but would rather deal with org members if given the choice. He's giving you a good deal, you should jump on it.

BTW, your dealer is full of S**T.

When I sold my 99, I couldnt find an FOB. The buyer went to the lealer, they wanted $111 for FOB and $35 to program it. I told him to wait and got one for $18 shipped on ebay and programed it for him myself.....he was happy.

Exhibit A.

Like I said, dealers charge ridiculous prices, have almost no info on aftermarket products, use morons as service advisors, and give out totally false info. The #1 reason to be a do-it-yourselfer.
