Which color grill insert would look better on a black 2k2

After seeing kloogy's grill-tech insert I decided I might just need to get one. But I can't decide on black or silver.

Black would be more sleek on my black Max but would probably blend in too much and not even be noticeable.

Silver would stand out better but might be too "gaudy" looking.

Help?! Which one?

Here's the link to the pics of the insert:

Thanks!

mine is supposed to be coming in the next "one to four weeks"

anyways, get if off of eBay. Kloogy and I both got ours for only $40.

Get the black grill. I've seen black M3s with black grills and they look tight! And intimidating. Awsome look. If you're looking for more of a dressy look go with the silver.

Oh, I just noticed. That kit is just for the bumper. It would look better with the main front also.

Hurry up and get it. I think I'm going to get it too. I've noticed junk stuck to my radiator already.

Ya know, I hadn't even thought of that as a reason to get it. Now I don't feel as guilty. At least I am doing something to "protect" my investment in the process!

Could this be bad though by reducing the air flow to that area?

I thought about that when I bought my grille for my silver 2k...I wanted to get silver but if the it is silver silver (shinny)...it's going to look like a ghetto chicken wire. but if it is powdered silver....I would go for it.

Plus, I dont like to grille to be stand-out too much...if I have a black one, I would still get a black one...or gun metal will be nice...but grill tech doesn have gun metal.

now my question to all who has silver grilltech.

how silver is that silver? is it shinny silver?

I think that any color Max would look better with the silver grille, as it stands out more. However, on a Black Max, if you got black tint, black grille, and gunmetal rims, that would look very "Knight Riderish"

Just imagine what your radiator is going to look like in the fall.

No problem. I was wanrned about how much garbage that grill would trap. After week and a half it looks perfect. I clean my car every other day, and I have not even had to touch that area ! Im thrilled with it. Ive had 2 max owners ask me where I got it. I even had a 240 owner ask me too ! I dont like the main grill section, its not my style. I like my stock main grill look. I continue to endorse this mod. Thanks for the compliments guys ! New mods to come real soon !

Silver

I tried both black and silver Home Depot valences and it is much easier to see the silver. The black blended in too much.

If you are talking about GRILLES- not valences, then I would say it is a tossup between silver and black.....

Looks great...quick question: What was involved in the install on the Grill tech. Any cutting or drilling???

Thanks for all the input. I still can't decide which would look better so I think I am going to order the silver and if it doesn't look good I'll just paint it black.

save some money, DYI for only $20

Mesh Grill -$6
Cutting Shears- $5
White metal flat Paint- 4
Zip Ties- $4
Marker- $1
Seeing my face light up everytime I see my grill/lower valence- Priceless

For the valence, black will blend in tooooo much and you can't see it. If you get silver or white, its easier to see. Looks tight!
