Snubbed by Turbo magazine
They posted the results for the Battle of the Imports drag racing event for the Joliet(Chicago area) stop. During this illustrious article they don't mention the most competitive class. The Sportmans A class(SE/A), which requires the car to be 13.99 and faster(bracket racing).
There were approximately 96 competitors in this class which showcased plenty of turbo(300zxs ,supras, RX7's talons, intergas etc.) cars which were dialing in from the 11 seconds up to 13's. Oh and there was one Nissan Maxima. These were basically the faster cars up there except the trailer queens with no interior.
After the tire smoke cleared my Nissan Maxima was the last car standing. I was hoping they would have posted the results so that the Maxima would have gotten a little pub.
I am thankful for the $300.00 and the nice size trophy that Battle of the imports gave me.

I feel the same way
After each race I won last year I would also look in the magazine for listings of my wins but nothing. I won twice last year, Low Rider Import Summer Slam(July) and Import Survival Series IV in October. Both gave me $300 cash plus but other then the local track paper it was quit upsetting.
The October even was the hardest one because they combined the "C"(naturally aspirated) with the "D" class(power adder). I raced three other maximas and alot of 12 seconds cars and still came out of top. That was the best day because there were five other maxima owners there to help celebrate my victory.

Congrats Steve. Damn, it's just a pity that Maximas don't get more recognition. Maximas should get more credit than it deserve. Turbo magazine probably thought either that class and/or the Maxima wasn't worth mentioning. Hell with them, we all here know that your car rocks!
