Best Overall 17" Tire (Falken? Pirelli? Sumitomo?)

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy new 225/45/17 tires pretty soon. I was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences with Falken Azenis ST115, Sumitomo HTR Z II's, or Pirelli 7000 Super Sports. I don't want Kumho Ecsta Supras, because although I keep hearing that they are the best value for the buck, they're supposedly a LOUD tire. Anyone have any suggestions out of these 3 tires that I listed as far as quietness, performance, and treadware? Thanks for your advice and I appreciate your help!

hmmm, i read the reviews about Kumho Ecsta Supras, but I just wonder if anyone has ever had any problems with those tires on the ORG. If they are really good tires as people keep claiming, then I might get a set. I just worry about whether people have seen any irregularities with these Kumho tires more often than usual or whether they're just a loud tire due to the tread pattern design.

Not any significent amount of problems. Good because ALOT more guys here are using Kumhos vs the other two you mentioned.

Ah loud tire? Loud compared to what? Not the P7000s, that's for sure.

I've had KuMho 712's for about a year and i don't understand why ppl say they are loud tires.... they really arent. MAYBE there's a difference in sound or something on a maxima.... cuz i had em on my Celica and i've done LOTS of beating on that car /w the tires and didn't hav a prob w/ that.

Anywho, right now i'm runnin 17" Pirelli 7000 Super Sports... i love em, they are quiet tires and grip very well. good luck

I can get these z rated tires called Avon in 235\40\18 for $115 each. Avon makes motorcycle tires and has just started making car tires. Anyone know anything about these tires??????

I had been running 235/45/17 SP8000's for the last 6 years and switched to the Sumi HTR Z II's this year. Sumi's are quieter, much, much better in the wet and approach the limits much better than the SP's. And they are also much cheaper than the SP's.

You will not go wrong with that tire. I was skeptical that a tire that was that much cheaper could be anywhere near as good but they are better in every respect.

555s are awesome. Far better than the Pirelli P7000SS, which I
ran previously. Get the 450 if you want them to last a bit longer
and get the 555 if you don't mind a bit faster wear for tenacious
grip.

out of all the tire i had i must say that the nitto 555 is the best all around. they are not cheap but well worth the money. i now have a set of falkens in 19" but i really wanted the nittos but i had to wait a week for them, so i went with the falkens.
