I just got off the phone (keeled over is more appropriate) with a technician at Level 10 Transmissions in N.J. I called to ask what their valve body recal would cost for the Maxima. They told me that normally they have you ship your VB to them, they mod it and you install it back yourself.... EXCEPT for the Jap cars. For the Japs you have to go to Level 10 and have them do the work. Fine, but when I asked how much for L10 to do the job the guy told me....

$698 for the parts and
$500 for labor!!!

I had him double and triple check that he wasn't quoting me a price for an entire tranny rebuild and he wasn't. Am I crazy or does this sound a bit insane?! Has anyone had the Level 10 valve body recal, and is it different from Don's?

Ouch thats expensive!!!!!!!

You can get a Protorque TC for $395 and Don's VB for $450. However the labor for installing the TC is around $350-600 anyway so there is no way around it.

Don's vb recal is $400-$450. Not sure what the deal is, but that's around the normal price.
