what kind of spark plugs are best for a 97 max se?

I'm not sure if it's my spark plugs, but when I am starting my max up, it does a little chug chug before it goes. It only happens if it's been sitting overnight or for more than 2-3 hours. I'm not a big car buff but I'm looking for optimum performance for my max and cars have been my new hobby. If the max has only been sitting for an hour or so, it will start flawlessly. If it is the spark plugs, what kind do you guys recommend? What gives the best results? Thanks in advance.

I'm new here btw

I'm not sure that its the spark plugs, it could be a dirty fuel filter or a throttle body in need of cleaning. You should do a search to get more information.

The best spark plugs are NGK Platinums, the ones that came from the factory. Good luck and welcome to the board.

As Spiff said, NGK Platinum plugs, the ones that came from the factory are the best for our cars.

I believe your chug chug is from a dirty throttle body.

Check here for detailed instructions w/pics on cleaning. www.motorvate.ca

Have a happy 4th!

this is sort of a dumb question... but where would you find NGK Platinums? Could you get it at your local Autozone or Pep Boys?

Yeah, but they cost like $25 per plug at those stores. Get them from Courtesy.
