y pipe in 2 weeks or rsb ASAP
y pipe in 2 weeks or rsb ASAP
well this friday comes, and its time to get payed....and i need another mod....im expecting hopefully 200$....so i need to put around 50 aside for G.A., and then 20 for gas, so that leaves me.....130.....i can get the RSB shipped for $115 OR, i can wait another week, save the money and get a Y pipe....which do yous suggest?? im going to get both mods eventually, but which do you think i should get first?
hold off a week for the pipe, or get the RSB now? thanx

i'd wait and get the ypipe...but it depends on wat u want, more power or better handling? u'll have both sooner or later anyway

if u wait two weeks to get the y-pipe, u better add another 2 weeks to that list cause it takes time for most y-pipes to come in unless u probably get the all expensive stillen...not sure how long their deliveries take. Wit the rsb, the addco doesn't take too long (a week or less if u order from right person) plus its a quick mod to throw in real quick...if u have credit, i say order the y-pipe now so it comes in asap and you'll have the money so u don't have to worry about getting into trouble...and we're talking about 200 dollars here, not a 1,000 so if something big comes up, you won't be seriously shot in the foot spending the dough before u have it in your hands....just my 2 cents....

if the rsb is soo important for the sh*tty maxima suspension then why dont we see maximas flipped over on the road every day? well, at least not from where i live
i'd go for the ypipe and get the rsb later, unless u've almost flipped ur car over already then go with the rsb

you probably thing that the RSB is an antisway bar too huh?
Look it has nothing to do with "flipping" your car. Its about when you start to drive faster and you have that rear end of your car that flails about in corners as a result of the current ASB not being rigid enough... The next thing you know you are in a lateral slide. Have I done this? No, have I seen it...yes. In any car, there is the potential to lose control of your car, maxima included. What do you think causes most accidents? Loss of control, what does the RSB do? Helps keep your A$$ in control. Get it?

are u telling me that i'm gonna lose control of my car since i dont have a RSB? i have not even come close to losing control of my car. since any car has the potential to lose control why doesn't everyone have a RSB? and if a RSB is so important and without it u lose control and accidents occur, why dont cars come with a rsb? dont u think it would help reduce accidents? get it?
yes, i am a "moron" or maybe "just new to earth"
BTW, i was jus being sarcastic about the flippin over thing..no offense...please dont try to flame on me
I feel so much dumber after reading that. I came to the conclusion that your kidding and being sarcastic or your just one stupid ****.

lol, its so funny to see beef on this forum cause u can't even curse here...lol
as far as RSB is concerned, yes it improves handling and makes u more in control but not to the point that it can avoid accidents like crazy, plus, most guys who get in them type of accidents are speeding way beyond the RSB can handle or not paying attention...
my reason for saying RSB is good is because it improves turns, not to avoid accidents (although it can do that) but to improve your feel of the car. No one wants to turn and lean heavily on the door. that always happens to me on my father's 1998 Mazda MPV...sucks, and my used to do that as well but wit FSTB and RSB, i don't feel it as much and can turn MUCH BETTER...just my opinion....

Hey Jaime-
Y-Pipe! You can wait on handling...I got a Stillen RSB a year ago, and while I noticed the difference, I was still a bit disappointed. Anyway, have you considered warpspeed's sfcs? i heard they DRASTICALLY help out even a highly modded car (w/ springs/struts/bars).

Lets talk about Y pipes. They dont increase the cars power by that much either, 12 fwhp is the average on a dyno.
Do what you guys want to do, dumb drivers keep my livelyhood going strong.
I suggest you start with wheels/tires, springs/struts, fstb, and rsb. Then continue w/ speed adders: air intake, y-pipe, cat-back exhaust. The car needs to handle better before you add speed. You will notice better improvements from handling mods than speed mods too, unless we're talking about boost. Good luck.

If you think that over steer in a FWD wont happen to you, think again. Its happen to me and I've seen it happen to other cars before in accident avoidence. Reinforcing the the ASB on the rear of that car reduces the lean and the weight trasfer in the rear of the car.

And you say that I think oversteer won't happen to me? A RSB is made to create oversteer on a car, correct? or at least it reduces understeer. A little oversteer and less understeer is a good thing.

Well isn't the Y, the best bang-for-the-buck power mod? 12fwhp is actually a lot, and the Y is especially efficient for its price.

I think the the Y pipe is nice, I have one. But the 2 things I learned way before I bought it was that the maxima has 2 serious problems. The brakes and the handling, both are deficient when it comes to higher speeds (80mph+). First mod was tires (traction and lower tire aspect ratio) second was FSTB and RSB (traction and handling) Brake upgrades (s/s hose and x-drilled rotors, metal master pads), Y pipe, CAI, hiflow cat, exhaust, next will be n20. The logic behind this to have control over the car when doing stupid things like racing and waking up late for work. he he he

The RSB merely aids the Anti Sway Bar, which keeps the weight load from pulling the rear end of the car laterally by keeping it in a lower profile (normal ride height). Keeping the car flat in a turn, helps in the traction of the rear tires. So keeping this part of the car flat is also going to help keep your car from fish tailing and spinning out of control from traction loss in agressive cornering and breaking...i.e. accident avoidance, driving too fast on the freeway.
