Installing Hybrid intake - Need help with hose hookup.

http://jdmmotorworks.com/intakes/int...MA/MAXIMA1.JPG

I am in the middle of installing the above hybrid intake in my 98 Maxima 5 speed and am having a problem hooking up the hoses. The intake has two large connections, one very small one and one medium sized one that comes with a piece of hose. My factory intake does not have the medium sized one, whats it for? There is a hose on my car that is about the size of the medium connection but it does not connect to the factory intake, it is just open at the end and the other end looks like it leads to the transmission. Should I just cap off this connection on the intake??

I think there was another string on this same product bought of Ebay. I just capped it off. In fact the hose that was supplied was not even long enough to reach the automatic transmission which the ebay guy said to hook it up to. Currently, the hose that is venting the transmission is not hooked up to anything and is just "open".
