trouble with my emissions. HELP!

Ok guys here's my deal, 87 max with 144k on it, had pass inspection a year ago, then it sat in my driveway for 6 months while I was at school. Been back on the road for a month now but failed inspection due to emmisions. Hc limit:2.00 mine:5.66 CO limit:30.00 mine: 195.83 NOX Limit:3.00 mine: 0.40 CO2 reading: 205.78. So I failed HC, and CO. Nothing major has happened to the car since it was inspected a year ago. My question is whether or not with these levels you guys could give me an idea of what im up against. Is it possible all I need is a tune up (spark plugs, filter, oil change etc) due to the car sitting for 6 months. I know its also possible that it could be somethign big like the converter. Any feedback at all would be great. Thank you

Do a tune up and try some GM top engine cleaner in the engine to burn out the crud. Then, use low octane gas (more BTU's) and rev the hell out of it on your way to your testing. My Buick has no problems passing when it's screamin' hot, but has failed twice when cold.

Re: trouble with my emissions. HELP!

Make sure the car is at normal temp and not cold. Then clean your EGR control valve.
