Questions On the 440 nopi kit -

I am planning on getting a kit within the next week or 2 tops. I never drove a car with nitrous and I know nothing about it besides what I was able to read on these forums. Is installation something I would be able to do myself? Or should I take it to a shop? How much should I expect a shop to charge for installation? Some things I have done myself are installing a UDP and cefiro headlights.
Also, when people say to tune your car after installing nitrous, what do they mean? I live in 07882 in NJ if anyone that could help me with an install if having a shop do it is too expensive or extensive. :slant:
I hear that the nopi kit for 440 in the sticky is good. But when I clicked on the link and tried to order it, the price in the checkout cart was $520 something?

It's a very easy thing to set up and you'd be better off because you know exactly how it works!

If you want some advice, let us know what you're looking for.
Single fogger, direct port, dry?
What shot do you want to run?
If you're going with dry what size injectors do you have and what
are the biggest injectors your ecu handle?

If you don't know how to read plugs It's better to go to a dyno with a bunch of jets and set up a good a/f. Get a step colder plug and have fun :)

What do you mean go to the dyno and set up a good a/f? I would like to run 35 or 50 shot and maybe at the track I'll run a 75 shot a few times.

Was wondering about that $440 zex kit? Is that still around?
Everyone on the forums is saying wet is better than dry so, I'll go wet.
I have a stock 97 ecu with stock 97 injectors.

What kind of gains can I expect with 35 - 50 - 75 shots in the 1/4?
97 Max has udp fidenza flywheel Y pipe + custom catback.
Best ET was with everything except the Y pipe 15.1 at 91 with a 2.29 60ft.

Well if you don't really know how to read plugs and just start spraying saying "hey it's running fine" without even knowing you're lean and BAM you could melt your pistons . Play it safe and go to a dyno, buy a wideband, or egt guage. ... But
dyno would be good for numbers :)

Single foggers have more down sides then ups. Single foggers are easyer to setup because you just tap into the fuel line and tune to whatever shot you want.

Dry kits are limited by your injectors.
The way it works is that it raises fuel pressure to what the bypass jet is set too just like a fmu on a turbo car. So like if for example, you have 17lb/hr
injectors at 43.5psi and you have a jet that raises psi to 80-90 your injectors will flow like 23lb/hr injectors wich can support 210 to the crank and you get equel fuel in each cyl unlike foggers and don't run a chance of blowing your gasoline soaked manifold off.

You're probably going to go with a single fogger, but what size injectors do you have and what are the biggest you can put in? Just get a dry kit and get the biggest injectors your ecu can handle. I bet your car
can handle big enough injectors for just 75-80 more horse.
