how much can my car take?

this might make for a good sticky. i have a 95 maxima 5 speed and im wondering how much nitrous i can run before i start to hurt anything? yes i know their is not a absolute set limit but what is a safe point? i know some cars will take more then other biased on factory compression ratio or what not.
so on a 4th gen VQ30DE how much spray can i run with a dry set up and how much for a wet set up and still be safe? (well at least as safe is nitrous can be.)

A 75 shot is completely safe.

If tuned correctly you can run a lot more than people think.

ya i know nitrouscan be as safe as a turbo or blower set up as long as you have the fuel to go with it. i had a 100 shot on my lincoln all i had for fuel was a fuel pressure booster. so when i hit the go button it went from 40 psi to 80 psi but i also had a 255 LHP 110 PSI pump. i saw on here some one say they were running a 200 shot in their maxima but im sure he had motor work done?

so your saying that i can run a dry 75 shot and be fine right? (of corse not holding you responsible for anything)

oh ya i know that guy from the Mark VIII forums i think hes on either a 100 or a 125 shot wet. wet shot on those cars can be very bad becuase the intake is so big and so long. their have been a few guys that have gotten a freak back fire and have blown the intake manifold through the hood. thats why i had mine add fuel through the injecters by raising the fuel presure not by spratying the fuel through the intake.

There is no definite answer.

A 75 shot is considered safe, but with the right fuel and some experience you can run quite a bit more than that.

75 dry on a 3.5, what about a 3.0?

I'd like to do a 50 dry shot, just a straight "nitrous in a bag" setup. No timing, no tuning, no fuel upgrades, nothing. Just running a dry shot before the MAF, assuming the MAF is like that of a GM MAF and will see the enriched oxygen and give more fuel.

Basically I need to know if the MAF is a hot wire or cold wire type setup.

You can spray a 75 wet shot with colder plugs on 3.0/ 3.5 all day long.

its a hot wire. you wont want to spray before the MAF since it will make the MAF go bad quickly

So on the 5.5 gen, a 75 wet shot with no other motor work (besides I/H/E) is fine as long as you have colder plugs and I take my timing down from 17 degrees to like 15 degrees? Or should it be 14 degrees?

^ You can run a 75shot with stock timing.. Pulling timing is just a preventative thing ya know? I ran a 100shot with stock timing, one step colder plugs and a walbro fuel pump for two years just about.. If I could of pulled timing I would have but I didn't, I just made sure I had enough fuel and my afr's were good.

i have a similar question, not to jack a thread but it would be repetitive to start a new one.

a vq35 with vq30 timing in a 4th gen, what timing will the car like with n20, what the afr usually like without any adjustment???

was thinking about a 100 shot (real whp like NX kits) wet, will i have to mess with the timing or should it be good?

as far as the VQ30, i know a guy in miam that sprayed a 100shot wet forever

I sprayed a 100shot forever.. If you have the fuel to do it (fuel pump, good injectors, and something to tune with and your afr's are good then you shouldn't have any problems.

you can spray 75shot all day in a 4.5gen, to spray a 100shot I would upgrade the fuel pump

stock ecu timing is fine

I've been spraying a NX 150 shot for quite a while on my VE with stock timing, 2-step colder plugs, and a walbro 255. No problems yet.

Exactly my plan once I learn more, already have the kit. Spray should cool boost like meth I think wonder if you can run both, gotta learn and read a bunch.

So 75dry and 200wet? is that with stock fuel pump?

I been sprayin 75 NX Wet shot past 2 weeks no problems with 17degree timing advance and 1 step colder NGK v powers.

i understand a dry system maxis out the injectors and stuff but a wet shot really dont if i retard my timing down to 13 or bac 15 stock could i safely spray a 100 shot wet with stock pump?

Just read this thread man.
The answer I am giving you is from above:
With a 100 wet shot, you should upgrade your fuel pump.
You can run it on stock timing.

What are you using to tune?
Do you have a wideband?
