HEEELLLPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys hows it going? I have a 97 GXE and I have no AC?! It's killing me, I somehow cracked the little aluminum line that runs from the condenser to the drier ( I don't have the part number will update). I went to Nissan to order the part and spoke to Courtesy and the outcome is the same its on a national back order.

The condenser is the same for the 97 and 98 ONLY. 95-96 and 99's are different. I found a website that says if I send them the hose they can replicate but there is no refund on "custom" made parts so I really don't know if I want to take the chance. Does anyone on here have any other ideas. Know of anyone selling this part if the removed their AC etc. Please let me know thanx guys.

First the ac wont work until you replace or fix that line then have a proper ac vacuum and recharge done. For the line I recommend you find a local hydraulic hose repair company. There are tons near myself, and at work I sometimes use a mobile guy who does great work with a great warranty. With the system having been open I would also recommend you replace the reciver/drier.

Only one yard in your area? I would keep trying. Try craigslist for part outs as well.

Yea im going to keep trying i found two on craigslist and both seemed to be good and was taken off the car in front of me and had hairline cracks. I have replaced the condenser, drier, and two other lines I just need this one and a recharge it was ice cold last year until somehow this line cracked and I decided to change it all.

I had the same exact problem as you. And have fixed it.

You will need to replace the drier/accumulator since the system is now open. The problem is that since u are are 1997 like myself u will need a SPECIFIC drier for the production year of your car.

I dont know why nissan did this to the maxima AC systems , but it is split into possibly three different systems, 1995-1996, 1996-mid 1997, mid 1997+.

This makes it complicated IF u trying to go used.

The easiest thing to do is get a new drier and pipe line from courtesy. THe drier and pipe line inlet and outlet connections SHOULD have the SAME port size as the condenser. Install and u good.

The cost effective way of doing it is hitting the junkyard.

Either way u will need a new drier. Autozone or any local parts store WILL NOT have the proper year for 1997. From my experience, they only have the 1996 or 1998.

I ended up buying a 1998 drier from autozone and finding a 1998 pipe line from the junkyard and rigging up my system in a most ghetto but effective fashion .

I have a bunch of 1997 pipes i can sell u for 5 bucks plus shipping, if you get the 1997 drier from courtesy

And another thing, read this man

Thread Titles should be wayyy more descriptive.
