THE CAR HAS 97xxx ORIGINAL MILES
IT DRIVES PERFECT
CANT HEAR THE NOISE UNTIL I OPEN THE HOOD

ANY IDEAS??

NO SES LIGHT NO OIL LIGHT
DOES NOT GET LOUDER AT HIGHER RPMS
SHIFTS SMOOTHLY NO NOISE

SOUNDS LIKE THE TIMING CHAIN BUT NOT SHURE!!

 

Sounds like my engine a week before I threw a rod bearing.

 

PRO TIP: DON'T SPAM THREADS WITH THE SAME POST AND THEN AFTER REACHING 15 POSTS, MAKE A THREAD WITH THE SAME QUESTION.

 

That my friend is not perfect.
Now, does the noise change with higher rpm?
does it change or go away when you press in the clutch?
does it change on cold start up versus hot engine?
any change when you turn on the a/c?
does it have enough oil?
does the engine oil pressure light lights up or blinks?

I would check the easy things like the belt tensioners first as it's easy to do. Other than that, we'd need more info?

Also, has the car been sitting for a long time? I've had that happen on a vq when the motor sat without start for a few year.

ITS NOT THAT BAD UNTILL IT HEATS UP LIKE IN THE VIDEO
