Which ones?

Please excuse my ignorance guys. But I'm going to do this mod and would really like input, as these bulbs are pricey. I'm sure this topic is beat to death and I apologize but I couldn't find a clear answer in the my search. Which bulbs is everyone using from the xtreme site? Is it the first ones that are just the bulb or is the second picture that is a kit of some kind?

Save yourself the hassle and go with the best, Diode Dynamics. No issue with condensation and they are true to their brightness. You will not be disappointed!

Did you do 2 sets or one? I'm curious if one set would be bright enough

I did 2 since there are 4 bulbs total. I love the brightness! I also went with 6k and love how they match up to the stock DRL's. I know someone who went with the 5k and sent them back. That is the nice thing about DD, you have 30 days to return if you are not happy. They are a great company and you can get all your lighting needs at one place.

Help please!

So I ordered two sets of H16 XML2 bulbs from diode dynamics and the connector seems different is there a trick to make them work or are they the wrong bulbs ?

2016 SL.

Thanks!

The wire is just longer on the plug but it should still plug right into the factory socket.

My factory bulb is a twist connector and the bulb says H16. The bulbs from diode dynamics have a click in style connector. Are they compatible?

Are most people's fog light connectors the twist style or the snap style ? I ordered my bulbs from diode dynamics using the by vehicle application so I'm a little confused why the connector varies.

I'm not sure but I think you may be looking at the wrong connection. All the lights that I know of on most cars are snap style. In fact all the lights on any car I've ever owned have been snap in style.

The bulb I pulled from my fog housing looks like the halogen bulb with three metal tabs that hold the bulb in. And the diode dynamics bulbs I received look like ones shown with a plastic click in . These are two different styles ? Or are they interchangeable

Yes but I haven't installed them yet. My mechanic is installing my eibach springs tomorrow so I'm having go ahead and do the bulbs also. Frasierts said he ordered those same bulbs and they work well. He hasn't responded but I would imagine he received the same type of bulb and they fit just fine. I will know tomorrow if they work or not.

Let me know what he says ! I am really curious if usually these cars have that style connector and mine is an oddball. Or hopefully the connectors are Interchangeable. I really don't want to send these back. You can see what connector type you have by looking into the front of the housing. If there are three metal tabs it is the other style.

I just spoke to the diode dynamics customer service regarding this issue, and this was their reply:

"It appears there is an error in our listing; sorry about that. Check out the link below for our XML2 bulb for your Maxima! Our XML2 in Pure White (5000K) would look great with your DRLs!
http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/led-bulbs/listed-by-size/h16/h16-xml2-pair"

I'm wondering if the guy that responded on here even has the bulbs installed. How did he install the h16? And the fact that they are saying the 5k match better is making me want to change my order. I ordered the 6k. You Think I should go with the 5k instead? It appears to me those would be a better match for drl. Changed my order to the 5k. The rep I spoke to said the same thing that the 5k would be a better match.

I called this morning as well and am really happy diode dynamics has a great return policy. They are sending out the proper bulbs for me as well. I went with a set of 6k and a set of 3k and am going to see if it looks good with two different bulks in

I'll be going to diode dynamics for the rest of my led purchases . It is strange that the other guy said to get h16 bulbs. Maybe he was mistaken about what he got.

Did the rep tell you that the 6k would match better? Cuz he told me that the 5k match up better with the drl. I have the factory led low beams in my car so I'm hoping the 5k match the drl cuz I don't want 3 different color bulbs. But I also don't want to have to exchange them again. The guy at diode said that the 5k are def a better match. I guess I shall see. Let me know how yours work out. Curious now to know if the 6k I originally was gonna get were a better choice.

So did you order the 5k? Please give an update on how they match when you have them installed.

I went with 6k and 3k so both will be on my car. I will also post a picture so you can see both colors when I get the bulbs which are tentatively scheduled for Monday.

In person looks better, however, I have been told by many of my friends that they match great to the stock headlights.

I really like the 6k look! I'm hoping by putting the 6k and the 3k into a single housing I get a nice unique look and not a blurred single color.

Are you sure that you installed h16 bulbs because there was no way the h16"s were going in my foglight housing. And thanks for the pics!!

Just installed my diode dynamics LEDs and they look sweet. I chose the wrong bulbs and they shipped me the correct ones super fast. The passenger side inside bulb was really hard to put in but finally I pushed really hard and it went . I might be tempted to switch the 3k to the inside and 6k outside but not for a while ! I will post more pics later when it's dark out.

Look nice tho .. but I guess would look better with the 6K outside and 3K inside...

-----
btw, by 3K you mean the OEM halogens ? or you got two pairs of DD LEDs, one 3K and other one 6K ?

Some more pictures. While driving you can really tell a difference with the led, they are super bright. In person you can see the difference between the 3k and 6k even more. Happy with my selection

Went with the 5k. Everyone tells me they match the led factory low beams pretty well. Idk I'm still on the fence about it but I seriously don't want to go through the hassle of removing and waiting for new bulbs. I think I can live with the look but in my opinion they are not a direct match to the drl. I'll post the best pic I could get for now. I'll try for better ones.

I'm most likely going to get these next. I went through a bunch of cheap LED's and was not satisfied with the color or the output. The 5k color looks like it matches perfectly. But how is the glare with that much output in the reflector housings? They look very bright based on a few images but I do not want to blind oncoming drivers.

Its actually not bad at all. Remember fogs sit pretty low. I have yet to get flashed or anything like that for my lights being too bright.
