Ghetto but functional torque link!

Driver's side engine mount took a crap and now I get the clunk noises from stop and go motion. Didn't want to go through the trouble of getting it replaced. I had a new set of eBay hood dampers that never fit the car so I had them laying around. Being resourceful, I decided to use one of the dampers as a torque link. Surprisingly, this nearly eliminated the issue. Barely even hear the noise anymore. Huge difference. Only con is that I had to take a hammer and bang a dent into the hood to make clearance for it to close.

Why not just remove the hood ? That way you can show off your handy-work.

Not that my opinions and observations mean sh*t to anyone and I'm absolutely willing to keep my damn mouth shut ... but I see several things quite wrong with that situation.

Maybe remove the wheels too? That way I can show off my dirty calipers as well.

I think I'm going to try this, but not hurt the hood

You may need to find an alternative spot. Tight gap between the rad support and hood.

Bravo! That is hilarious
I'm glad it worked. Now ruin that damper!
