went and test drove a 300zxTT today...cos I was bored. anyways, asked the sales guy what the Z had and he replied...greedy exhaust (read GREEDY..thats how he said it), aftermarket intake,...etc.
1996, 300zx is the last year it was made!...excuse me...but I think 300zxs were still available in Japan after 1996, and its...the last year they were brought to the US!

he rambled on and on...and my face got more and more contorted...(trying not to laugh!).
finally, he sighed and said..."son, judging from the ride you've got...think you probably know more about this car than me!"

so we hope in for a test drive, a transam with temp plates tried to **** with me at the lights...salesguy was like...trying to ignore the kids in the other car...but light turns green...I punched it and took it to about 80mph in a 35 zone...his face turned green and the transam was a mere speck in my rear view mirror!

I wouldn't fault him too much. Sure it was a model in Japan...but not the US. I can't blaim him for not knowing that. Also......one thing to note is stay away from the 96zx's. The ecu went to ODB-II in that year....and it lost HP. To meet emmisions the car doesn't have the vtc on the exhaust or something like that. To be sure...check on the TT bbs's. They will tell you it is NOT the same as the 90-95's.
