i was taking to a retarded a$$, crack sniffing idiot, who said he put an exhaust and an intake on his maxima, he also used a smaller belt so all the optional stuff like a/c wouldn't work. he said that when he rev the engine passed 8500 flames would shoot out the exhaust. i know what your thinking you can't rev pass 8500 because your rev limit is 8000. but he said that his mods gave him so much hp that he had to get costum guages, now his rev limit is 11000. i don't believe not one bit of what he was saying but he sounded so confident in what he was saying. so my question to you guys is can you even do this to a max?

 

The engine would probably tear itself apart at that RPM..

 

But anyways, you could do it. No cats and a turbo engine running a little rich would give you some nice flames when you shifted or let off the gas..

 

why dont you go see his car, have him prove it to you...

he was talking **** about lowering it and putting a bodykit on it, he said it was 2 inches off the ground and he never bottomed out and he lived in new york city at the time. i don't know if any of you has every been to n.y city but theres no way you can drive a car 2 inches off the ground there. too many bumps.

 

Way too many bumps here in N.Y for a car to sit that low.

Indy cars have a hard time running 11000 rpm, let alone a Maxima!
the rev limiter on our cars is 6200 anyway (6700 on an SE)

ask him if he put beans in his gas tank, otherwise you need a carb to get flames, and hey, a max is fuel injected (duh). at least that's how rods do it. he obviously smokes crack and is an idiot.

 

Whenever I get on it with my 93 GXE and the rpm's build to red line, I'm always afraid that someday I'm gonna hear a big boom and oil and sh$$ will fly all over the windshield- little less 11K rpm's! Actually, most of the hot rods that get flames to spit out the a$$ side come from a special kit that they put on the car. They take a spark plug and actually install it in the exhaust pipe. Then they run a wire up from the distributor cap to a button on the dash that leads all the way back to the other spark plug in the back. When they push this button, it steals a spark from the distributor and sends it back to the exhaust which ignites the raw fuel left over from the piston that didn't fire.

 

I would support the crack smoking theory
