AEM UEGO....Who's going to try it first?

Does it REQUIRE the EMS? I don't think it does.

I'm NOT an AEM fan, but I think this would be a God send for those of us who don't have reliable dynos or like to tune on the fly. For ~$400, I think this would be good bang-for-the-buck.

Comments? Opinions?

Incase you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, this should get you started:

pretty sure the Uego is laptop compatible(of course with the proper software) $400 is pretty good though. only prob is you have to lug around a laptop JUST to view your AFR and no RPM capabilities

Personally I'm waiting for Innovative to release their RPM harness(~$99) for their current WBO2($330)...fully traceable AFR and RPM graphs that can be displayed on your laptop for under ~$450!

Why not techedge or innovative? Admittedly they are both a little weak in the datalogging area, but both have the capability. It seems as though the only difference is that one is much easier to permanently mount versus the other.

The aem from what I remember does not have a display, so you'd have to wait for them to release it or run their ems to watch the a/f values. Otherwise I just haven't had time to fiddle with the techedge just quite yet so I can't give any feedback on datalogging for them.

Out of curioucity what wideband o2 sensor is aem running on their wideband setup? the ltk? or the bosch?

I am not aware of any device out there that can log it other than the EMS itself. Unless you develop something to display the 0-5v output, it is useless until the AEM gauge is completed. Even if you did have something to display raw voltage, you would need to convert the voltage to afr. Glancing at yet another gauge is hard enough while WOT - converting it on the fly would make it hell.

Thanks for showing me the light guys.

I'll look into the others you've suggested.

Ice heres the link to Innovative incase you need it--> http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/

and heres a thread on H-T.com reviewing it...

(reviews are on the last few pages pf that thread)

I'm picking mine up next month when they release the RPM module(supposedly)...I can't wait I'll basically be able to do my own tuning on my teg with my "chipped" ECU :woot:
