She's alive!

Its been many months since I blew third gear while tuning and testing at 14.7 psi. I rebuilt my spare trans and beefed it up. I tore down all the gear shafts and de-burred and polished every thing. I then sent the shafts, all gears and ring gear for cryo and shot peening. I replaced most of the inside hardware and re-mic'd the shiming and seals etc. I am now running Redline Shock Proof Heavy gear oil. I left the same clutch in their as I will replace it when I do the motor. She started up OK and only made a few wierd noises. I drove her for a few miles then took her up to 5psi and it was awesome, like falling in love with her all over again! Over the next few days I will push her back up to 14psi and see how she likes it. She should have less lag becuase I did switch to the .5xAR exhaust housing. Their is a track event at MIR on the 19th I am going to take her for some blasts. Since I have a daily driver now I am going to get radical with set up for the track. Now that this project is seemingly done I can clear some room in my garage and start the 3.5L hybrid build up! If any one has a hook up for 740cc or 850cc injectors please send me a PM. :mardi:

Uh...you had what most of us consider a radical setup for the track already.

Now your car is going to go LUDICROUS SPEED!!

Just f'ing awesome.....you are my god.

740-850cc damn that is a lot of fuel man its a maxima engine not a M1 tank lol.

stephenlc Sep 5, 2004 07:29 AM

there is a 350z guy who has hks 1000cc injectors and V-con pro. But he already has a AEBS sleeved block, forged everything, he probally have the fastest 350z in the world in the with the next 6 months.

Mardi they are having a group deal on injectors and arp head studs. Aren't 350z injectors the same type as VQ30DEK? Mabe you could switch the lower and upper intake manifold of the DEK.

Congrats Matt, Maybe I will come down today and drive the new toy.

555cc nismo injectors would be enough for almost anything our cars could throw at it...I would think...how much power are you plannin on mardi?

Using this chart...http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm#WORKSHEET..

If your pushing much over 500 Crank HP, you need bigger injectors. Matt is pushing ~440 whp. So he is near the 100% IDC.

And like spanish rice said, he has 515cc now

Nealoc187 Sep 6, 2004 08:32 AM

555cc injectors are only 2x as big as stock, so if you think about it, you can only run 2x what the stock injectors will safely support if you want to stay safe on the 555s.

Nealoc187 Sep 6, 2004 08:39 AM

BTW mardi this should be awesome I can't wait, hopefully you will put down some sweet numbers.

MardiGrasMax Sep 6, 2004 11:13 AM

At 14.7 psi I was seeing 100% inj duty cycle, I'm gonna up the base FP and use the EM to adjust for it, I can do 555cc at 52psiFP, but with the new motor I'll be way past that. JWT is also rich and I can get a bit more out of her if I lean it up a bit. Im not sweating it now, just looking for a cheep hook up.

Mardi,

You should switch to a DEK lower and fuel rail to run DEK injectors, you can pick up 630cc for dirt cheap or run RC Engineering 350Z injectors in whatever size you need.

Thats what I said. I give him link to 350z injector group deal.

IceY2K1 Sep 7, 2004 12:56 PM

His motor is using side-feed injectors, he would need to convert first inorder to use 350Z/DEK injectors.

Not what you said. :wiggle:

Back up to 14.5 psi and no problem, scarey fast! I was only in the 4.6v on the MAF and 86% injector duty cycle even at 7200rpm pulls! My PLX wideband is here and I just need install and do some data logging to see where I'm at in AFR. Track day on the 19th.

dang marti and im over hear saying im getting close. now i have to wait and see if i even stand a chance. this is a turbo i presume and are you still running nitrous set up and if you are im in the works of running extra fuel via the solenoids with a activation switch when its senses boost from the s/c instead of bigger injectors. dont know if it will work but im working on it. good luck with that beast.
