On a SC'ed setup...which would be more efficient?

Just a quick exhaust question...

Car A

blown @ 10psi - stock exhaust manifolds - 3" ypipe and catback

Car B

blown @ 10psi - cattman headers/y pipe - 3" catback

Is this a trick question?

Nah, basically....

Will headers + 2.5" catback/y = more efficient than...

stock manifolds + 3" y pipe/catback

or vica versa...

Oh, your post isn't clear to me. I took 3" ypipe and catback to mean 3" catback as well as 3" ypipe.

bigger the better!

Kevlo911 Dec 24, 2005 08:36 PM

Car A would be better.

steven88 Dec 24, 2005 08:56 PM

Agreed. Am I not correct in saying that headers are the "strongest link" of the A32 exhaust?

In that case I would go with car A as well.

Car B would make more power, if you are meaning headers/y combo and then a 3" b-pipe through muffler. Stephen Max's car proves this with a 2.5 b-pipe.
