So for all the people thinking just because you are boosted(SC) and make more peak HP you can't lose to an NA car, this is for you.

If you don't have a raised rev limiter and pretty much all the bolt ons you will get drug. :D

Enjoy....

Mods for that dyno include MEVI, full 3" exhaust, etc etc.

When we ran I would pull maybe a car granny shifting because I didn't want to break sh1t again.

Nice post. I'm dying to see a 3.5L 6speed against a 7psi SC'd 5speed. If you mod and build a 3.5L it can probably take the SC'd car on 10-11psi. What started this whole 3.5L vs. SC is basically me not wording it right, either way, this really isn't really a surprise. SR20DEN is just a different story altogether. Not a good representative for the common 3.5L max at all. My statement still stands, a stock 3.5L motor is not taking an SC. :wall:

:bowdown1: to SR20DEN though.

SR20DEN Jun 7, 2006 09:29 AM

What's going on here eh?

It would be a close race if the 4th gen was stock besides the bolt on SC'er kit.

Probably?

SR20DEN's car is a stock motor car. Stock cams, rods, pistons etc etc. Anyone out there could duplicate his car if they paid enough attention to what he has done and posted. Nothing on his car is out of the ordinary headers, modified manifold, larger injectors, l-spec ECU, larger MAF housing, exhaust, UDP, pop charger, rod bolts, weight reduction.

Its not his fault no one else has done it, 99% are more worried about light bulbs and stereos which is why noone else has done it.

One more thing, his car ran a 14.3@97 with intake and UDP so the factory freak calling people to head elsewhere. :)

No offense Blu, but I don't think your setup was at its full potential. If you are going to compare the 3.5L ringer, you should compare the 3L ringer.

Put SR20DEN vs. StephenMax:
------SR---SM
3500 150--150
4000 180--180
4500 218--215
5000 240--250
5500 250--280
6000 260--330
6500 265--350

No offense taken but this discussion is about a 10psi basic bolt on Maxima not a 14psi header equipped Maxima. Find me a 10psi SC’ed Max that makes 350whp with my mods and then we can compare. The initial discussion started with a 7psi SC’ed car but I threw mine at 10psi to compare since that number came up in a previous thread.

BTW my setup was 3.125 pulley, s-trim, JWT ECU, MEVI, 3" full exhaust and other minor stuff. Can't really go too much higher than that unless you add headers and 00VI.

Dyno pic works for me. Once again nice numbers Matt, really damn impressive, your car is sleeper as hell too, I love it. :)
