My 2K maxima has a leak from the upper oil pan gasket and didn't know one existed until my techinican called me and told me it would cost $550 to replace it.
Is that true there is a upper and lower gaskets!!! |

Thanks jcy98maxse:
Now, it is seepage and not actually a leak causing a puddle... Should I be concerned, the oil is all over the axle and tranny!! Also, is this mating surface actually identifiable to apply the sealant, it looks like a jungle under there with the rack, axles and all that stuff out there!!! |

I have 115K on the vehicle and never has been the gaskets or pan removed. The leak is predominatly from the rear cover plate!!
