Thanks for putting these up Sarin!

kzoosho Nov 9, 2008 05:17 PM

Is it surging? I hear the ssqv but it sounds like you are getting a ton of surge. Your car reminds me of my s/c 99 right down to the wheels. Well i got 3rg gen saw blades.

Why do you think its surging?

The ssqv isnt very s/c friendly as it doesnt vent at idle, something a s/c will need. There are better ones for a s/c app out there.

JonBlz Nov 9, 2008 09:08 PM

yep that hks BOV will mess up the blower buddy

mastercater7 Nov 9, 2008 10:53 PM

thats great news considering how long its been on there....

Turbo XS makes a couple great ones but the best and most tried is the Blitz DD.

Torgus Nov 10, 2008 09:08 AM

hotness!

mtrai760 Nov 10, 2008 10:36 AM

It surged when it was on Ians/Sarins car as well. I don't think Ian cared though.

mastercater7 Nov 10, 2008 10:52 AM

:bonk: Maybe I shouldnt care either!? It does sound awesome...

Torgus Nov 10, 2008 11:19 AM

surging is BAD

The Wizard Nov 10, 2008 12:10 PM

HKS SSQV FTL......for our particular SC setups anyway.

Had it, hated it, sold it.

The Wizard Nov 10, 2008 05:56 PM

Just a FYI, second link no longer works Sarin.

SpooledVQ35 Nov 10, 2008 06:16 PM

Get rid of that hks and get something like turbosmart bov....

mastercater7 Nov 10, 2008 09:28 PM

Itll have to wait for now. I need a tune that will stick before I can buy a new blow off valve!

JonBlz Nov 11, 2008 12:18 AM

TUNING IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT

Haha ya, well if you look in my other thread, http://forums.maxima.org/supercharge...d-4-5-gen.html you will see all the tuning problems im having with the emu. The new thing its doing is activating the launch limiter while cruising...

Well i would deff get the tune right and then very soon after replace your bov. I would hate for you to get it together and have the surge kill your blower. Best of luck to you man.

In reference to using a turbosmart blowoff valve on a S/C maxima. That would have the same issue the HKS one has. :bonk:

wow you guys are smart....

maximase86 Nov 21, 2008 08:26 PM

Yup, that's surge. I was thinking of fixing it when it was on my car, but well...that obviously didn't happen. Oddly, that S/C has been running that BOV for 5 years so far.

95BLKMAX Nov 24, 2008 08:06 PM

I must say that does indeed sound pretty f'ing mean... I'd be like WTF IS THAT? if I ran a Maxima making that noise on the street, haha

mastercater7 Nov 25, 2008 02:10 AM

Ya, you should see the turning heads I get everyday. The best though, are the peoples reactions when they try to race me :shiner:

MDeezy Nov 25, 2008 05:33 AM

nice setup, clean and car looks like a sleeper. Keep her running right :D

I would probably piss my pants and go crying to mommy

Don't kill me for me for resurrecting

People are always trying to race me thinking I just have a catback. Once I rev it up, they don't really know what to think. I will have new dyno with the new jwt tune, no emanage, and the 3 inch exhaust in a week or two. Im hoping for 425-450 whp and 385-415 wtq.

You must get us a video of their faces when you rev!

TJ_Max Dec 31, 2008 02:43 PM

Nice vids, def surge.

^^^Then he sold it to me, I had it, I hated it, and put it on a turbocharged car, lol. Blitz makes a huge difference. Oh SSQV put me through 2 rebuilds, I swear it was the culprit. My SC was so quiet before I had this thing. Sucks that the HKS doesnt have an adjustment.

Those would be killer numbers.
What have you changed on your setup besides the EU mappings to raise you from the 300+range to the 400+range?

mastercater7 Dec 31, 2008 08:46 PM

The 3 inch exhaust. Also, the emu is very messed up. It was costing me tons of power when the first dyno was done. The other problem with the original dyno was the belt slip. The highest boost we saw was 7 psi and it fell lower and lower the higher the engine was revved. I can't even begin to explain how fast this car is. I have driven and ridden in s/c 3.0 maximas and my s/c 3.5 is WAY faster than those were.

Could we race on the street with no slicks?..... :shiner:

wirelessdude04 Jan 12, 2009 03:56 PM

The Wizard Jan 12, 2009 04:19 PM
